PA viewer

Freely    distribute    your    presentations    
and interpretations
Session   files    created    in    PA    Professional    and    PA    Explorer   
can    be    viewed    by    your    colleagues    without    the    need    for   
commercial    licences.    You    can    package    all    your    data    files   
with your session and your colleagues will be able to
open,    zoom,    pan,    navigate,    turn    layers    on    or    off    and    print   
any    view    present    in    the    session.    The    end    user    will    not    be able to modify layer properties or add new layers.

visualise my data and models?

It    is    easy    to    look    like    an    expert    on    your   first    day  simply by using the drag and drop capability,  wizards or library of templates and components.
Encom PA’s smart data connectors analyse the data and models you point at and then lets you drop them  into    an    existing    project    window    or    blank    desktop.   

1D    Visualisation    and    Interpretation

Encom    PA’s    1D    visualisation    covers    line    data,    sections,   
wireline    logs    and    strip    logs.    EM    data    and    CDI    sections   
are a specialty with the addition of anomaly picking on 
proiles    and    interpretation    drawing    on    sections.    Sections
can    be    projected    into    3D    volumes    and    onto    2D    maps.



2D    Visualisation    and    Interpretation
It is easy to work with grids, images, maps and vectors    in    Encom    PA.    Easily    layer    images,    grids,    and    vectors    in    a    single    frame    where    each    image    layer    can    have    independent    transparency,    colour    balance    and    illuminated    highlights.    Individual    layer    transformation    for pseudocolour, intensity and RGB colour modes  provides    interactive    image    analysis    tools.
Live    links    between    the    maps,    track    plots,    proiles    and    3D    provide    insights    into    your    data    that    are    not    possible    with    conventional    processing    systems.


3D    Visualisation    and    Interpretation

Encom    PA    provides    you    with    easy    to    use    3D    visualisation,   
analysis, integration and drawing tools that are usually
seen only in high end mining packages. You don’t need
months    of    training    to    build    effective    projects.    Ju
st    start   
with    the    drag    and    drop    tool    and    build    your    irst    3D    project   
in    a    few    minutes.    All    the    datasets    that    you    viewed    in    1D    and    2D    are    also    available    in    3D    plus    a    rich    set    of   
data    and    models.    For    example    you    can    load    geological    and    mine plan models from a broad range of mine planning  packages,    GoCAD    and    geophysical    modelling    products.

Put It All Together

While each display style is powerful in its own right, 
you can compose them into coherent presentations for
reports,    slideshows,    posters    and    live    demonstrations   
using the powerful and reusable components 

and    templates.    Any    group    of    basic    objects    can    be    
combined within frames to build reusable components.
Groups    of    components    and    objects    can    be    further    assembled into templates that suit different output  devices    such    as    plotters,    printers    and    screens.

Encom    PA    Explorer’s    connectivity    to    industry   
geoscience data standards knows almost no bounds.
It allows you to interpret your geophysical data in
the context of geochemistry, drilling, geological
mapping, geological sections, models, GIS, cadastral,remote sensing, imagery and mining models.

Geophysics

Encom PA allows you to integrate most geophysical
data in the form of points, lines, arrays, grids, images 
and    models.    Ground    and    airborne    geophysical    surveys   
covering    magnetic,    gravity,    gradiometer,    frequency   
domain    EM,    transient    EM,    gamma    ray    spectrometer   
data are all supported. Other geophysical data formats include    SEG2    seismic    and    drillhole    data.    Visualisation    of    geophysical    models    and    inversions    are    supported    for    the    magnetic,    gravity,    EM,    DC    resistivity    and    IP    methods.

Geochemistry

Geochemistry data is accessed from Encom Discover,    AcQuire    and    Geosoft    project    databases    and    you    can    build    your    own    projects    from    ASCII   
data    imports.    Full    support    is    provided    for    on-the-fly desurveying    using    a    selection    of    methods.

Geology


Geological mapping, drillhole logging, sections and models
can all be accessed within PA Explorer for input into a 

diverse    range    of    display    formats.    The    information    can    be    in   
GIS,    logging,    image    or    various    model    formats    depending   
upon the application source. There is support for popul
ar products    such    as    Encom    Discover,    MapInfo    Professional,    ESRI    ArcMap    and    a    range    of    popular    vector    formats.

Imagery and Remote Sensing

RGB    image    input    from    GeoTiff,    ER    Mapper    (.ERS,    .ECW)   
or    Encom    EGB    format    provides    lexibility    with    conventional   
image displays. RGB Images can be crafted from multiple
grid    sources    to    create    unique    enhancements    of    gridded   
data.    Multibanded    images    in    ER    Mapper    and    Geosoft    grid formats can be used for manipulation of remote sensing data using the grid calculator functions. Large 
scale    remote    sensing    data    is    managed    via    ER    Mapper   algorithms and .ECW compressed image formats.

Encom    PA    Professional    provides    a    rich    environment    for   
building    interpretations    that    cover    anomaly    picking,    map   
interpretations,    section    interpretation    and    3D    geological   
model    building.    PA    Professional’s    Feature    Manager   
uses    a    3D    object    database    to    capture    your    interpretation   
elements    from    which    you    can    build    sophisticated    3D    targets,   
models, surfaces, faults, geological units and intrusions.

Anomaly Picking

Diamond    explorers    love    the    direct    linkage    and    picking   of targets within maps, sections, detailed graphics 
proiles    and    3D    volumes.    Ask    us    how    easy    is    it    to   produce a batch run of 50 standard, scaled plots for field    follow-up    using    a    prioritised    set    of    targets.



Section Interpretations

Airborne    EM    interpreters    love    the    power    and    elegance   
of    presenting    and    picking    multi-channel    FEM    and    TEM   
data    along    with    the    track    map,    CDI    inversion    section,   
light    plan    and    associated    image    maps.    You    can    pick   
anomalies    on    the    proiles    or    draw    interpretations    on    each    CDI    section    to    demonstrate    the    most    probable    geological    picture.    Interpretations    from    sequential    sections    are    easily    joined    to    build    complete    3D    interpretations.

Map    Interpretation   

Interpretation elements in the form of points, lines
and    polygons    are    easily    drawn    onto    a    map    with    live   
updates    into    any    other    concurrent    map    or    3D    display.   
You can instantly see your interpretation in the same
context    as    10    separate    images.    You    can   
convert    map   
features    to    3D    objects    by    using    the    extrusion    wizard   
to    project    features    down    from    the    terrain    surface.

3D    Interpretation

How easy does it get when you can build your geological
interpretations by synthesising all the data, model  inversions,    geochemistry  and geological  
knowledge?   
This is where you turn exploration into reality for your  colleagues. Nothing will be left to guesswork when
you can show where the drillhole should be placed.
With    the    Feature    Manager    you    can    create    3D    targets    of    untested    volumes    identiied    in    the    geophysics.    You    can    also    create    and    edit    3D    geological    surfaces    and    close
d    volumes    to    build    complex    3D    geological    models.

connect to my other software?

Encom Products

ModelVision    3D    models,    model    sections,    grids,   
lines,    points    and    AutoMag    solutions    are    viewable   
with    live    linking    of    3D    model    editing.    
QuickMag    Pro    models,    grids    and    images    are    viewable    in    Encom    PA.
NODDY    voxel    models,    3D    DXF    models   and  potential   
field    grids    are    supported.    EM    Vision    and    EM    Flow    have    extensive    support    within    PA    Explorer    for    transient    EM    data    display,    decay    curve    analysis    and    CDI    inversion    sections.

UBC-GIF

Encom    PA    supports    the    visualisation    of    UBC-GIF    voxel    models,    2D    inversion    models    for    MAG3D,    GRAV3D,    DCIP2D,    DCIP3D,    EM1DFM    and    EM1DTM.








Image Building

Any    image    map    view    including    vectors    can    be    converted   
to    a    located    RGB    im
age    in    GeoTIFF,    ER    Mapper,   
.ERS and compressed ECW formats for further use  
in PA Explorer or other image and mapping products
such    as    Encom    Discover,    ER    Mapper,    ArcMAP    or    Oasis    montaj.    Georeferenced    RGB    images    are    used    in    mapping    and    terrain    drapes    in    3D    views.

Other

Encom    PA    supports    content    from    ArcGIS,    Oasis    montaj,    GoCAD,   AcQuire,    Mine    Planning    and    many    other    packages.    Oasis    montaj    GDB    databases,    grids    and    supported exchange formats are supported by direct  connection    and    Encom    PA    will    also    create    iles    
for    use    within    Oasis.    Many    of    the    GoCAD    model,    vector    and    image formats are supported for integration with your
other geological and geophysical data and models.  Oasis WholePlot and AcQuire drillhole databases are supported    in    map,    section    and    3D    displays    to    provide   
excellent    control    for    constrained    geophysical    inversion.

enhance my data?

Encom    PA    provides    you    with    a    range    of    interpretive   
enhancements tools that include line, section, grid and
voxel    gridding,    iltering,    calculators    and    toolkits.    The   
calculator tools include a rich array of trigonometric,
statistical and logical function capabilities.

Gridding

PA Explorer now has a rich set of gridding options that    include    minimum    curvature,    Kriging,    inverse   
distance weighting with elliptical weighting,
triangulation, nearest neighbour and bidirectional splines. Gridding of cross-section data is also supported with the same suite of methods.
PA    Professional    provides    3D    voxel    gridding    options    that    include    layered,    inverse    distance    weighting,    discretised    (lithology)    and    3D    Kriging    with    full    3D    variogram    support.  Advanced    2D    and    3D    toolkits    are    provided    for    manipulation,    merging    and    calculation,    and    scripting    of    3D    voxel    models.

Filtering    and    Processing

PA    Explorer    includes    a    complete    range    of    FFT,    convolution    and  non-linear   filters    for    grids    and    line    data.    The    line    filters    include    convolution,    FFT    and    some    non-linear    methods.    The    convolution    filters    include    median,    average    and    user-deined    filter    kernels    plus   



14 standard and non-linear methods. The non-linear  filters    include    AGC,    Median    and    noise    methods.    The    FFT    filters    include    bandpass,    continuation,    derivative,    highpass,    lowpass,    pseudo-gravity,    pseudo-mag,    reduction    to    equator    and    reduction    to    pole.
The    grid    filtering    tools    provide    a    powerful    and    easy-to-use    suite    of   filters    and    transformations    that    are    focussed    on    interpretation.    The    convolution    filter    suite    supports    all    conventional    ER    Mapper    filters,    user-deined    filters    
and    some    non-linear    filters.    As    well    as    the    normal    range    of    filters,    the    FFT    suite    include    the    ZS    Geoilter    suite,    analytic    signal,    component,    integral,    pseudo-gravity,    pseudo-magnetic and general phase transformations.
You can select either maximum entropy or minimum  curvature    padding    with    the    latter    offering    high    quality    preservation    of    long    wavelengths    to    improve    RTP    and    pseudo-gravity    transformations.    A    minimum    curvature    hole   
filling    tool    is    especially    useful    for    filling    gaps    in    SRTM    grids.
